Archival Pigment Prints

For the exhibition, convergence, Grant introduces a new format constructed entirely as triptychs. These works envision connections made from moments of episodic memory to observations based in reality.

They Were Mischievous, 2017
Conduit Gallery, Dallas, Texas

By shifting views and focus, Grant challenge’s the viewer to contemplate a central narrative that combines images fabricated in the studio with images shot on location while traveling in Europe. The juxtapositions elicit multiple meanings and suggest connections to one’s visual memory.

The triptychs are printed by the artist as limited edition archival pigment prints on Hahnemüle 308 Rag paper in an edition size of 3. The total running length of each is 52.5”x145.5” or 35”x94”. Each print has a hand-torn white border with a de-bossed signature stamp on front and labeled and hand-signed en verso.

Night Journey uses the shadow as metaphor to examine the perceptual and psychological aspects of the dream-state and provides a pictorial access to the unconscious.
